This Cookie Policy explains how Onyx Record Press (“Onyx,” “we,” “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on onyxrecordpress.com (the “Site”). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, to remember your preferences, and to gather information about how a site is used. We also use similar technologies such as local storage, which stores information in your browser in much the same way.
How we use cookies
We keep this simple. We use two categories of cookies and nothing else:
- Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Site to work and to be secure. These include remembering your cookie choices and protecting our forms from automated spam. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4, which tells us how many people visit the Site, which pages they read, and roughly where they come from. These are set only if you agree.
We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or profiling, and we do not sell or share your personal information with anyone for cross-context behavioral advertising. Our Google Tag Manager container holds Google Analytics only. If we ever add another tag, we will update this policy and the consent banner before doing so.
Your choices
When you first visit the Site, a banner asks whether you want to allow analytics cookies. No analytics cookie is set, and no Google Analytics request is made, before you choose. You can accept all, reject all, or open Customize to decide by category.
You can change your mind at any time — withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page to reopen your preferences. If you turn analytics off after having turned it on, we set your Google Analytics consent state to denied and delete the Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*) from your browser.
Your choice is stored for 12 months, after which we ask again. We also ask again if this policy changes materially.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
If your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an instruction to leave analytics cookies switched off, and we do not load Google Analytics unless you later opt in yourself.
Browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” setting. There is still no common industry standard for how sites should respond to it, so the Site does not respond to Do Not Track signals differently from the choices you make through our cookie banner. We do not allow third parties to collect personal information about your activity across other websites through our Site.
Browser controls
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser offers this in its privacy or security preferences. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the Site from working properly — for example, we will not be able to remember that you already answered the cookie banner.

Google Analytics is provided by Google LLC. We use Google Consent Mode, and Google Analytics is loaded only after you consent. Information collected through Google Analytics may be processed on servers in the United States and other countries where Google operates. We have IP anonymization behavior as provided by Google Analytics 4 by default, and we do not use Google Analytics data for advertising or share it with Google advertising products. You can read more in Google’s Privacy Policy, and you can install Google’s browser opt-out add-on to block Google Analytics on every site you visit.
Email signup
Our mailing list is managed by Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.). A plain embedded signup form does not set cookies on this Site.
Embedded content
Some pages may embed content hosted elsewhere — for example a video player or a map. Where that content would set cookies covered by a category you have not agreed to, we block it and show a placeholder with a link to your cookie settings instead.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use cookies, we will update this page and, where the change is material, ask for your consent again through the banner. The date at the top shows when this policy was last revised.
